Moving house: Shower Curtains

This here blogger looks set to be moving house sometime soon. Stressy  - yes? Expensive - for sure? Am I bothered - nah? Think of all the home stuff I'll get to look at! *brave grin* 

In an age old blogger tradition I'm going to use very blog to make exciting plans about decorating my new home (read: gain unrealistic expectations about doing up a wreck). Hurrah!

I'm going to start with the bathroom, partly as I seem to be gaining an unhealthy interest in one particular product...shower curtains. Perhaps as I keep on spying beauts (like this recent fave and these lovelies I was tweeting about just yesterday) and haven't had the chance to buy one *shakes fist at smeary glass shower doors* for far too many years. 

So in advance of maybe one day having an excuse to actually buy one...here's a mini round-up of my fave shower curtains.

Mondays are for Mugs: Restored

I like to think that I'm a mug connoisseur. And with this as a regular weekly post I have, I'm sure your not surprised to hear, looked at a *lot* of mugs. So I feel like I can confidently say that this week's choice is one of the more classy of the mugs I've come across...

I think it's the on-trend rose coloured copper of this beautiful mug from Restored that gives it this highest of accolades.

But hold up if you are thinking about filling this beaut up with your PG Tips, as it's recommended to be used to quaff cooler drinks with a higher alcohol percentage...and not for hot drinks sadly. Ah well, I'll have to hold back on the cuppas and fill this with cocktails instead, needs must, eh?

My First Car Boot Sale...really?!

As a prolific car boot sale goer, you'd think I'd have burst my car boot sale *seller* cherry by now. Surely?! But no...thus far I have yet to cut my booting teeth. 

My car booting experiences have usually (as can be seen here, here and er here, bit of a disaster that last one...) been used in my apparent quest to fill my home with junk, my ongoing ambition to add to my ever-increasing garb hoard.

However this autumn it seems like I am *finally* really to claim my place on the other side of the table (or y'know car boot). 

But 'why?' I hear you say. Perhaps my hoarding days are over and I have found a new love for minimalism, clear shelves, empty drawers and only owning one teapot? Alas no (apologies to the long suffering boy that is ne-ver going to happen) but this project is actually just down to simple economy. 

I want to make myself a little pin money, rid my cupboards of some of the less sensible buys (but I *needed* the ornamental birdcage!) and slim down my wardrobe to hold maybe 10% less Hennes stuff that doesn't fit me properly. 

So as a veteran of traipsing round booty filled car parks I've decided to turn around my love for the car boot bargain and become A Seller hoping to make myself a tidy (and hopefully not tiny) profit at the same time. 

Which means that tomorrow will see my car boot selling days begin. I'll be flogging my tat at the Battersea Car Boot sale, bargaining hard, counting up my readies while mainlining tea and doughnuts. Or, perhaps more realistically...anxiously worrying about pricing, concerned about my poker face, nerdilly totting up any incoming pennies and horridly hyper-aware of (well-deserved) criticism about the tat I'm getting flogging...while mainlining tea and doughnuts. So...

I have a question for you...any advice to a first time car boot seller? Are you a booting pro with any tricks of the trade to share? Go on give this girl some hints...or I could be leaving this car boot with more tat than I arrive with. Help! 

A fave and a challange

Firstly I wouldn't write a post without giving you something nice to look at now would I? Oh no, so here's a pretty Fave to feast your eyes on...a lovely star lamp with circus style big bold lightbulbs. Simple, stylish and a bit ridiculous, just my cup of tea. And yes I'd definitely get the monkey too, I think it sets it off nicely, non?

Now the pretty bit is over and done with...let's get down to the business end of this post: the challenge. Now this blogger may be a fairweather blog poster with an unhealthy penchant for mugs and tea towels (not just on the blog embarrassingly enough). 

But for some perverse reason as if I'm not busy enough with my lovely busy job, handsome (he made me write that) boyfriend, demanding cat, Blookclub, scarf knitting, quilting and zumba lessons (yeah you read that right) I've decided to take up the Blog Every Day in November challenge. As set up by fabulous fellow blogger Rosalilium (read more about it here). 

So get set for a daily onslaught (or do I mean delight?) of blogposts from me for the month of November. Some may be tired. Some may be short. Some might even be half alright. But that's part of the fun isn't it? Isn't it?!
